Bringing Baby Home
It is common knowledge that parenthood is one of the most challenging, yet also most rewarding times in a person's life. There are many challenges that parents face and many lifestyle changes including loss of sleep, new roles, more laundry and dishes, and possible changes in employment status. There is a lot more work to do! What many people don't talk about is the effect these changes have of their relationship. Two-thirds of couples report decreased happiness and satisfaction in their relationship after bringing a baby home. Many of these couples start to question their relationship because they don't realize how common these feelings are.
The Bringing Baby Home Program was created for this reason. BBH is an evidence based and research tested program designed for couples during pregnancy. We also welcome parents and babies under 3 months to the workshop. This program helps you plan ahead and learn to communicate to establish some key areas of your relationship so that you have a solid foundation from which to welcome your baby.
Couples who completed this program had lower rates of divorce and postpartum depression, and reported higher satisfaction in their relationship and greater father involvement.
Babies whose parents completed this program had fewer language delays and less crying reported. These babies were also found to laugh and smile more during play time when studied at 3 and 12 months.
